When you feel the stress and pressure, you need to go to your happy place, relax, take deep breaths, and then logically think about how you are going to proceed. The pressure needs to excite you, not bring you down. Competition is fun, so enjoy yourself, relax, focus, and compete the way you know you need to compete. You are in control of how you compete, and yes I know you have outside influences and factors, but you need to focus on what you can control.  From - SECRETS TO WIN Training on the Google Play & Apple App Store

Can you feel the passion?

Whether it is love or

the love of competition

the love of competition

Every coach in every sport and probably every business has tried to motivate their team through passion. They know that if their team does not have the passion, the performance will probably not be there either. It does not matter if you are a soccer player, football player, quilter, sailor, salesman, writer, singer, or an actor/actress; you will need to have the passion in order to effectively compete. If you try to make your child like something, how well do they generally perform when they don’t like what they are doing?

I know you have heard coaches and corporate management say that it’s just a job for Joe or Jane, which means they are not performing at a level that they probably could if they had the passion. It is satisfying and a whole lot more fun to care about what you are doing. Has anyone ever told you to go into a profession that you love and have a passion for, and don’t worry about how much money you are going to make? Ask yourself, do I have the passion for this? If you don’t, we both know your performance will not be as good as it would be if you did have the passion.

Athletes are constantly trying to psych themselves up to elevate their performance. You see singers coached to feel the emotion of a song, to sing it with passion, which will be conveyed to the audience, and elevate their performance. When you want to win, feel the passion, live the passion, and focus the passion into your performance. Passion and love is the fuel for life, and if you can capture it and focus it in a positive way, then you will always be a winner. You will not only find it easier to win, but you will become a much happier person as well.  Learn how with the Secrets To Win Traing App.

Keeping the focus when you are not performing well

In 1997, former professional basketball player Michael Jordon had flu symptoms in game five finals against the Utah Jazz and still ended up scoring thirty-eight points while playing an overall tremendous game. You don’t have to learn how to play with the flu, but you do have to learn to compete while not feeling your best. Some of us handle this better than others, but rarely do we feel the same every day. Some days you just feel a little bit off, and you may have to compete on these days. How do you combat the unpredictability of your moods and overall physical wellbeing?

Baseball players play a game almost every day of their season, and get maybe one day off a week, and even then, they might be traveling, so they are a good case study to look at. If you follow baseball at all, you’ll know that some nights a pitcher will say they just didn’t have their best stuff, or a hitter will say they really saw and hit the ball well. Why do they have different stuff, and see the ball differently from night to night or day to day? We can make all sorts of excuses, like the lighting bothers me at this ball park versus another, or the flight messed up my sleep and I’m tired, or I ate something that gave me some diarrhea, it’s too cold, it’s too hot, it’s too much altitude, it’s too bright, it’s too dark, it smells, the food is bad, the people are mean, it’s too dusty, the field is not good, the turf or grass is not to my liking, I don’t feel good, etc. All of these might be legitimate excuses, and then again, they might not be either.

Forget the conditions because everyone plays in the same conditions. Focus, make great decisions, and compete to the best of your ability. Physical ailments are definitely legitimate concerns when playing a physical sport that requires your all-out physical effort. What is the one factor that you have the most control over when you compete? If you guessed focus, then you are correct. Even focus is difficult when you have mental or physical issues, but you do have the ability to control your focus to the best of your ability, and it will greatly increase your odds of winning. Mental focus is one of the most difficult areas for anyone to keep their concentration, especially in a competition that requires your mental focus.
